Are there comments to your assignments that you found USEFUL?
Please, this is not the place to dispute or bring up the inconsequential comments I wrote. I want you to honestly choose only those comments that can help you improve your work, and share them with your classmates.
If there are concerns or if I wasn't sufficiently clear, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BRING THEM UP.
If you didn't find anything useful, just say so and leave it at that.
If you find that a classmate reports a comment that works for you too, REPLY and let everyone
know.

I guess that I wasn't entirely sure what the differences should be between the blog postings and the writing assignments. However in one of my assignments you wrote that I should stick to one concise argument rather than bring up multiple points. This was helpful and clarified any confusion that I had.

It was a helpful note on the Quo Vadis assignment to hear that in going too convoluted with my argument that my thesis got lost and thus, my points were a bit unclear.
ReplyDeleteI think I found the comments useful, in general. I am now able to see what is expected of me in my work, and what I can do in my future assignments in order to improve them. Hopefully, my grades will only go up from here, on future assignments.

I felt that the comments were useful. Our professor called me out on one of our assignments for not giving it my best shot and taking the easier route, and, I have to admit, I agree with him on that one. I'm glad he did though, because for the rest of the course each of my assignments with live up to their full potential.
ReplyDeleteI think the comments have helped me further think from a different perspective. I wrote about the Colosseum scene in Quo Vadis and how people today would not want to watch that, but I didn't consider how people today still find violence like boxing and horror films cathartic.
ReplyDeleteThe comments I received on my writing assignments have helped me realize that I need to make my argument more clear to the reader. Although everything makes sense in my head, I need to make sure my ideas are coming across. Also, I need to elaborate on my thoughts more. Instead of just writing one vague sentence, I need to write more about that idea to show I put thought into it.
ReplyDeleteA comment I received on one of my assignments saying it felt rushed toward the end made me realize that I should plan out what I want to say before I say it, instead of starting spontaneously and getting stuck in the middle trying to figure out how to carry on. I will try to use this critique to make my writing better in the future.
ReplyDeleteA comment that I found to be helpful on one of my assignments was to thoroughly think out my ideas before writing the first thing that comes to mind. I do believe that really thinking about what the assignment is asking and having sort of an outline before pouring out my thoughts will definitely help my papers become more clear and concise.
ReplyDeleteI found all of your comments to be helpful in assisting me to be more specific about my statements. Furthermore, whether your comments were 'corrective' or not, they always encourage me to do better and solidify my confidence in what I am learning.

DeleteI guess I would have to explain my thoughts more clearly and connect my thoughts to the films more. I'll definitely read my work over, and use your advice to fix my future assignments. I probably didn't understand the questions, but I will definitely try to answer them as best as I can. Thank you for your help.
